Buy a new book and learn some new skill I want to be able to use in my
next gig! Build something to really put the new skill to test. Write an
article about something you know really well or about a problem and how
you solved it. See the boring job as fodder for articles! (Why is it
boring? What could be done to make it not boring?)

Take up a new hobby that you can do on your lunch hour or at least read
about on your lunch hour!
