It seems to me that the expense of the second degree in engineering could get mighty pricy. At a
certain point, BA in English + BA in Engineering + work experience ='s patent agent, not technical
writer, to make it pay off. Many patent agents are people with strong technical backgrounds who have
not attended law school or who are in the process of attending law school. Plus, there are
scholarships up the wazoo for women entering engineering fields with the express intent to become
patent agents.
