Most recent nightmare: $100 million company rolling out a $10 million
software package hires for a team of RoboHelp contractors, buys one copy,
puts it on a machine locked away in the IT department, and tells them to
work out a schedule for using RH remotely via PC Anywhere. Does this sound
like some junior high school AV club kludge to you?
And on really ancient history:
First computer job: 1971, freshly returned from Vietnam, found a night job
at a bank running a card sorter and using an ancient and colossal paper tape
adding machine to reconcile the daily activities of "correspondent" banks.
