Some people have to take everything personally and not
for what it is: solicited advice and opinion. If she
didn't want to hear your take, she shouldn't have
asked for it. Your response was very appropriate, as
sometimes you have to grab an opportunity outside your
preferred market to earn a living. Me, I prefer
contracting to taking another job, but I was very
close to applying to Office Max and the like when 6
weeks went by without a contract nibble. When you have
other mouths to feed aside from your own, you do what
you need to do and move on. There's nothing
disgraceful about working in a customer service
capacity or "hard labor".
