Hi Dan,

It works!!!

The beta version I was using wouldn't process graphics

Thanks for your help.

BTW, Cathy and Lisa, CDR graphic files work also.

Thanks to all for your input.

Henry

Henry,

Here's a link to a gif of my Acrobat for Palm
Reader desktop tool's screen:
http://www.missionstech.org/images/preferences.gif

Do you see this when you click the preferences
button in the Acrobat Reader for Palm desktop tool?
I'm not sure if you're using the most recent version
of the ARFP tool, either. Mine is version 1.01 and
build 061501 - I don't think this is the beta, so
you might download the most recent version from
Adobe's site.

I'm running a Palm M505 (both an actual Palm and
the emulator with the 505 ROM). When I open the
doc on the Palm, I can tap the menu icon on the
graffiti area and get two menus: Document and
Viewing. From the Viewing menu, I have an item
titled "Hide images", which can be accessed using
the /m graffiti stroke. (Command stroke + M)

Upgrading to the newest version should solve this
(I think!) Let me know if it doesn't.

Hi Dan,

The ARPF converter does not have 'remove images' option. It gives the option
on which size images to take but that is all.

In the setting box, the file shows that the mage is there, but it seems to
get lost in the synch.

As for the Palm, I'm using the Palm 500, but the world of Palm is also new
to me and I cannot find the menu that sets image preferences.

Thanks,

Henry

Henry,

I am also creating Palm versions of our documentation
for use with Acrobat Reader for Palm. So far, I've
had great success with the ARFP converter, both for
full and text-only versions of documents. (File size
is an issue for Palm users, so long docs are made
available both w/ and w/o graphics)

First suggestion: Check the settings in the ARFP
conversion tool. Be sure that under Preferences
the "Remove images" box is unchecked.

Next, check you Palm device (or Palm emulator if you're
checking docs that way - a great tool BTW) and
ensure <g> that it's set to show images: Tap > Menu >
Show Images.

If you've still got problems, let me know.

I'm currently trying to put one of quick start manuals into a Palm doc,
using Acrobat Reader for Palm OS (Beta 2.0).

I'm working out of FrameMaker 6 (source) and can tag the PDF ok, but am
having trouble transferring graphic files. They show up on the PDF on my
system, but disappear when I put them into my palm. I suspect that the tags
are not reading the graphics (.CDR), but cannot figure out how to tag them.

Thoughts?

TIA,

Henry
