Regarding the imperfect science, craft, and art of forging technical
publications:

I check my own work all the time. It has been yonks since I worked with
other writers. Of course, my content is developed in conjunction with
SMEs who review their sections when I'm done authoring them, but the
online help and PDFs really only get reviewed by me. Agreed, there are
better ways, and my stuff isn't perfect . . . that is, it gets done
on-time, under budget, and meets the required content inclusion and
accuracy . . . but typos happen. I disagree that my stuff is "riddled"
with defects but, of course, I would--you'll have to take my word that
it is not.

Cheers,

Sean

You can't check your own work and find the errors. It's not human
nature.
This is why documents written by one person from outline to index are so
riddled with defects--technically and from a usability standpoint. How
long
before employers realize this? And by the way, if it were possible to
irradiate documents like hamburger, I would certainly be the first to
cheer
it on. Better that than e coli contamination.
