Which one do you recommend as being "correct"? Correct, in this case, means
syntactically/grammatically correct. (jsokohl)
"Correctness" shouldn't be the issue. (See unemployment threads.) The
reader "gets it" with any of the usages, but the first one is best because
there is less clutter and it's easiest to read. It's about visual
perception and ergonomics and not about grammar rules, IMHO. Things like
"perception" and "ergonomics" are what put the "technical" in technical
writer (along with understanding the technology, of course), don't you
think?
