When I say a little, I mean a lower level of expectation as well. I had a
coworker declare me a _guru_ because I showed him how to get his bullets
lined up in Word.

Small companies often have projects that any kid out of college can do, but
don't want to deal with inexperienced kids or they need more breath if not
depth than a kid might have. And of course, when you are the only person in
the company with a clue, you get to design the system, so it always works as
well as can be expected.

I'm sure that poor anonymous will be quite the "self-examined" person after
contemplating all our advice and recommendations. He/she will be able to
define "as well as can be expected" for him/herself and work from there.
