Yes, John, you did miss something: the word "need" in the first
sentence, and the subsequent reference to RoboDemo.
I am not taking static screenshots to be imported into a Frame document.
I am building a tutorial that runs a Flash movie in a browser window.
The application I am documenting opens various windows at different
times, and I cannot (and do not want to) resize my capture window
halfway through the process to accommodate them. The reason, as others
have suggested, is that I want to show the relationship between the
windows as they open -- the tutorial is intended to show users *exactly*
what they will see when they run the application.
My tip was therefore directed to others who might have a similar *need*
to capture a region larger than the current window.

I must be missing something here.
All you are trying to do here is get a screen shot of whatever
application
it is you are documenting without any of the surrounding background,
right?
If that's what you are doing, why not use a piece of software like
Fullshot
that does just that? Captures the applicaiton window without capturing
the
background.
