Folks:

I am having to create an Install Guide for a Mac application and I need some
advice/opinions.

The issue: Our installation sequence is modal. In other words, once the
install begins, the user cannot switch to another application without either
letting the installation finish or cancelling it altogether.

Obviously this complicates taking screen shots. I can't (unlike in Windows)
switch to the third party screen capture utility (in the middle of the
installation) and take the shot, then move onto the next screen in the
installation sequence.

The only way I can think of to get the screen shots at each stage of the
installation is to, prior to starting the installation, launch a screen cam
app (like Lotus' _Screen Cam_ or Tech Smith's _Camtasia_), run the install,
and then stop the camera after the installation finishes. I can then pull
apart the AVI (or whatever the Mac equivalent is) and get my screen shots.

Okay, here's where I need the advice:

I have LOTS of experience on the Windows side, but no clue as to a decent
(and cheap but effective) tool on the Mac. Any suggestions? I've tried
Google, Apple.com, MacWorld, but there must be a separate Mac language
because I am having a lot of trouble scaring up the info.

I am using a PowerPC G4 with 256 MB RAM running OS X. The tool can run in
either mode.

Thanks a lot!
