Of course it will. If you work an 8-hour day, get paid $10 per hour, and
have no commute time (and these are the arrangements you work out and
agree to with your employer), your daily intake is $80.

If your employer subsequently requires you take a 3-hour (90-minutes
times two ways) commute, this makes your day 11 hours long. If the
employer does not compensate you for the change in working conditions,
you are still making $80 per day, but are now working 11 hours. Thus,
your hourly wage is actually $7.27 per hour, which is close to a 30% pay
cut.

You're assuming here, of course, that Ola's being paid a salary. If the
pay
is hourly, the per hour wage may not be affected.
