Oy! Sounds like you're in a budget crunch, so this may not be an opportune time to go to your manager and ask for the money to upgrade to 5.05. But a clean install of 5.05 would go a long way to solving your problems. Still, let's proceed on the assumption that you won't get the money.

I don't remember if you can have a list of folder locations in 3.01 or if you are restricted to one location. If you are restricted to one location, point to the Winnt\Fonts folder. If you can have multiple locations and you have a c:\Psfonts folder, add that one, too.

Fixing number 2 should help.

AdobeSerifMM is a default font that Distiller uses to simulate a font you specify that it can't find. It is not directly viewable in a font viewer and it may be the reason you are seeing white text. Once you point Distiller to your actual font folders, however, this error should disappear.

Let us know if this solves the problem.
