This thread is interesting.

What about too many warnings to users of a product? Seems to me it's
possible to have so many warnings and cautions that users become inured to
them. They'll just skip over the warnings because there are so many of
them. What then? Do you keep only the 5 most important ones? Important
in whose opinion? Do you put all the warnings together in the
documentation or sprinkle them throughout?

For a consumer product, I kind of like them sprinkled throughout (of
course, in a meaningful way). I'm more inclined to read 10 sprinkled
warnings than a list of 10 warnings.

Surely someone, somewhere has done research on this. Is there a tech comm
doctoral student out there looking for a dissertation topic?
