I agree. Greed makes up the mindset of a lot of our lazy Generation X. As I see it, most of the people on this list are generally kind, intelligent, and ethical. Unfortunately, most of the people I know "in real life" are maybe 1 out of 3.

As for warnings in manuals, I used to keep a hairdryer warning just for laughs - you know, the whole "don't use this device while submerged in a pool or bathtub" or something like that.

Feeling cynical,
Cheri

It boils down to greed and lack of responsibility. I'm sick of people blaming someone or something else for their own bad decisions, and then trying to turn a profit on it. I mean, hell, I've done some really stupid stuff in my short life, but at least I've mostly managed to shake off my embarrassment and shame and move on down the road....mostly.

It's really bad with my generation (genX). There's this sense that we should be able to do whatever we want and not take on the consequences of those actions. Jump off a cliff and break my leg, oh well that's the fault of the guy whos property the cliff is on. Stab myself with a knife...oh that's the fault of the knife manufacturer. Bite my tongue...oh that's the fault of the dentist. I don't know what it is. Is it fear of getting in trouble? Is it bad upbringing? Is it the media? Is it something in the drinking water making people stupid?

<sigh />
