Is UPS still doing that? When I got a job with them, it was "donning a
jacket for somebody" who had apparently never seen clothing. <vbg>
Actually, when I was interviewing while working at UPS, I was telling
potential employers that everything was confidential, internal,
documentation and I had no samples from my workplace--funny that UPS
should come up. <g>
What are the credentials of the person reviewing your work?
I'd recommend the guy with the typewriter skills learn about computers
while still doing their important tasks on the typewriter, where they
are more efficient, especially if they cannot figure out how to open,
type-in, and save notepad.exe files by themselves. Anyway, feel free to
use this, but speckle it with emoticons: ;?P
To create:
1) Start > Run > notepad.exe.
2) Type stuff.
3) File Save.
4) Name the File.
5) File Close.
6) If this doesn't work, throw the PC in the trash and stick with the
typewriter.
To edit:
1) Start > Run > notepad.exe.
2) Use the arrow keys to navigate through the text.
3) Type stuff.
4) Backspace to delete stuff you don't want.
5) File Save.
6) Name the File.
7) File Close.
8) If this doesn't work, throw the PC in the trash and stick with the
typewriter.

Here's the assignment:
-------------------------------------
Interviewer One (Names Withheld, ed.) and I completed the interviews on
your
two candidates.
We would appreciate it if both Ed Manley and Candidate Two could submit
a
short procedural document for our review on the following. (We are
asking
this of our candidates in helping us to make the final decision.)
Scenario: The document is for the user who has no computer experience,
however, has used a typewriter. The workstation is a MS 98 workstation.
Goal: Instruct the reader how to write a document, print a document
and edit the document later. The procedure should include start to
finish (from powering up and starting the workstation to shutting it
down
also).
The product used is MS Word.
(If they have already completed such a document from a previous project,
