Between 9 and 5 perhaps? Or, if your working at one of these mythical companies
that doesn't believe in office hours and actually judges it's work force based
on deliverables, how about at the weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly planning
meetings?
The only power of an employee should not be to walk out of a job. A contract
(which is what all employment agreements are) should be mutually beneficial.
Employers are NOT purchasing the lives of their employees in exchange for a
salary. Andrew lists three goals of a company (product, profit, mission). Why
should a company be allowed (as it seems in his view) to determine that it need
only fulfill one of an employees goals (salary) to justify exploitation?
Besides, to be pedantic, if there are 100,000 reasons to leave snap at 5 seems
there are only three reasons on the company's side to stay late (product,
profit, mission).
