I am in the process of developing maintenance manuals for several systems
built from commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components. No diagnostic
software has been developed for these systems, which are composed of data
and audio networks, distributed computers, file servers, and
discrete-signal interfaces.

Does anyone out there have any advice or magic bullets for writing
troubleshooting procedures and supporting information for such systems?

Thanks,
Don Lenk
