Their practice is traditional. Yours is atypical.

Offer your advice and then bid on and do what the customer wants.

Cheers,

Subject: FrameMaker Document Conversion to HTML through RoboHelp??

Just had a recruiter call me about a prospective
contract. The company uses FrameMaker to write its
documents and then she said they convert them for
online use to HTML using RoboHelp.

Having used SGML, XML, and PDFs for online
documentation in the past, I am at a bit of a loss why
a company would use HTML in their place. Further,
having used Robohelp for strictly help screen
development I have never seen it used to publish
entire documents online. This seems odd to me.

Is this practice atypical?

Is the recruiter mixing up her details?

Have I simply not encountered this method of
publishing electronic documents?

Opinions?
