TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
As an aside, very many of us are single sourcing already. Not just for
job preservation, but to get more work done more accurately in less
time, with less font fondling. Certainly, UPS upper management has an
interesting way of approaching decisions! Am not sure many of the
employers I've worked for would approve of or take quite the same
approach. LOL!
There are ways to do this. If you choose not to take part in this
discovery,
so be it - don't read the thread.
If however, you believe that every techwrler has a stake in this debate
and
that solutions will be found, stay tuned!
Thanks to all for the insightful and interesting commentary. All
opinion,
even the negative, helps.
