I once saw, in a software doc I was updating, a warning written by a
technical writing predecessor that spoke of the possibility of the
computer monitor exploding and shattering the user with sharp shards of
glass, and the resulting need to wear safety glasses when using the
computer.
Seriously.
Of course, this was in the dark ages of the early 90s. Maybe someone has
assessed that the audience did not have TVs, either.

This is great! It must have been a lot of fun writing this weird little
manual (I particularly like the picture warning you not to eat the watch
<g>).
