Studies showed that Microsoft Bob and Clippy, the animated paper clip
were a good idea.

_I_ read paper manuals. I use online help. I tend not to read paragraphs
of notes presented by the GUI; yet, I was not part of the study. I know
several people who approach docs the same way.

Just a thought.
