I would suggest the "imperatif" form, with the implied subject being
"vous"--as you say, "la deuxième personne du pluriel".

Just like the English "imperative", imperatif serves to suggest or order,
and is usually conjugated similarly to the present tense but without the
subject.

So, I would say: "Utilisez l'imperatif, Shawna."

I would actually disagree with using the imperative in the GUI. The meaning you are trying to convey is really "This is where you can" do this or that, not "You must" do this or that. Hence I would use l'infinitif, et pas l'impératif, "Créer ceci ou cela".

On the other hand, if you are describing a procedure, you should use the impératif: - Choisissez telle fenêtre
- Cliquez sur tel bouton ...etc.
