For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
It is still an open issue, but I think another book on investing and tax laws would be a difficult sell. The tax laws get changed too often. We are leaning away from another investment manual. They are a dime-a-dozen and, in my opinion, the market has changed, requiring some serious re-thinking of investment strategy.
My thought is that it should aim at "the common person" and discuss the "basics" that don't seem to be taught in schools -- things like budgeting, saving, understanding credit (and using it rationally). Perhaps a chapter or two discussing financial products like like insurance (home, auto, and life) and how to make the comparisons necessary to get the "best" product for your money. Heck, it may even need a chapter on personal bookkeeping that covers keeping track of bills and balancing a check book -- but maybe my daughters are outside the norm ;)
Maybe I'm being a little negative, but I believe we are more likely to face a long term recession/depression than we are to see a return to boom times any time soon.
