TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I am a grad student at SUNY Institute of Technology in Utica, NY and I am
working on a thesis project for my major: Information Design and Technology.
My bachelor's degree is in Technical Communication.
My project is "Defining the ideal Web-based resource for Technical
Communicators." I am using qualitative research, focusing on interviews
with different types of technical communicators. I would be very grateful
for any input on what features/components/design you feel would go into such
a resource, or perhaps examples of existing Web-based resources that you
feel are most ideal. Please be aware that I may include responses (credited
to the list-serve unless other permission granted) in my research.
Also, I am conducting some of my interviews online with Instant Messenger.
