Jason's Surefire Methodology for Making Big Bucks in Technical Writing
(C)(TM)(YMMV)

1. Be excellent.
Make sure that every time a new project comes around,
your name should be at the top of the list for staffing
it. If the developers of your product do not point to
your documentation when answering questions about the
product, you are doing something wrong.

2. Be indispensible.
This means being part of the project team, not just a
remora sucking bits of information from the gills of
developers. When you announce a vacation, you should
hear wails and moans from the rest of the project team.

3. Be an expert.
Know the product. When you see an e-mail from someone
asking how the product or feature works, you should be
the first to answer it.

Do all that, and the big bucks will eventually follow. If
that fails, however, try #4:

4. Be related to the CEO
No explanation needed.
