Good point, but I don't think anyone would expect someone to be able to talk
intelligently about something they worked on that long ago. I don't think
that's what this person was suggesting. Rather, I read this as meaning that
if someone brings a sample and says it was created a few months ago, they
ought to be able to talk about the product for which the sample was created.

This seems extremely reasonable to me and sounds like a good way to
determine whether "I created this" means "I updated the fonts on this" or "I
researched, wrote, and published this."
