Like Mike, "I'm reading between the lines, of course, so I may
have it entirely wrong, but" are we talking about sentences
that may have been taken from scattered places in Document A
and scattered into entirely different places in Document B?
I haven't found that Word's built-in file comparison has
much success at that kind of work. On the contrary, after
encountering a patch where the files are completely different
for a while, it will never locate identical material that
appears later. (Or is that a memory issue?)
