Online-Learning.com: What Do Students Say About Our Classes?

"The class is almost identical to a graduate level course I took
at a well known University in Boston, Massachusetts."
Lisa (Professional Online Help System Design)

Excellent materials and assignments! I also LOVE all the
graphics included in the course materials. The content was
clearly written and is a skillful distillation of the vast amount
of XML info. Yeah! Allison (Introduction to XML Authoring)

"I had a lot of fun taking the class, thanks in no small part to
your help and patience. I think this is the best time I've ever
had learning a new skillset. Thanks again for your support and
understanding during the last few months, I think you are
excellent at what you do. Richard (Professional XML Authoring)

STORY: SnagIt's flavorful combinations

Dan the technical writer stood, transfixed, in front of the ice cream
counter.

At this ice cream store you could choose from a number of ice cream
flavors. Then, you chose the toppings you wanted mixed into the ice cream
- as many as you wanted. After it was all mixed, you could select the
type of cone you wanted.

As Dan was choosing his toppings, he felt a familiar feeling of unbidden
control. He had all the choices in the world. No matter what combination
he wanted, he could have it. What did this feel like?

"Ah ha!" he said out loud. "SnagIt!"

With SnagIt, he could capture full screens, partial screens, scrolling
screens, video, text, digital camera images and PC games. So many
options!

After using a multitude of filters to modify, edit and annotate images as
he captured, he could send any screen directly to the printer, a file, an
e-mail or the Web. He could combine whatever he wanted, whenever he
wanted.

The ice cream scooper interrupted his thoughts, saying, "Um, did you
say . .. SnagIt, like the screen capture software?"

When faced with this evidence of SnagIt's name recognition, Dan used all
his self-control to not whoop with joy.

He hurried home with his ice cream in tow - he had a few more SnagIt
combinations he wanted to try.

HOT OFF THE PRESS: _Mastering HTML and XHTML_,
by TECHWR-L's Ray & Ray Team

What's the difference between HTML and XHTML? And,
which one is right for my needs?
GIFs, JPGs, PNGs. What's the difference, and how
do I know which one to use?
What are ways I can reduce image file size for
use in Web pages?
How do I calculate how long my Web pages will take
visitors to download?
Tables and frames are commonly used on the Web to
develop interesting designs. What do you
mean that they pose significant drawbacks
for some site visitors?
I have a large Web site developed in HTML. Why and how
should I go about converting my site to XHTML?
I've used the <<FONT>> tag throughout my site to add
formatting. Now the W3C tells us not to use
this tag and to use style sheets instead. Yikes!
What do I do?
How do I track users to my site, and detect which browsers
they're using?
A tech writer who works for me keeps telling me that
the multimedia used on our site poses challenges
for both site developers and visitors. What
challenges could multimedia pose?
The JavaScript pop-ups and such we have on our site
work just fine. Can Flash Animations improve
on these effects?
Why should I plan for Web site redesign and maintenance
even before I develop the site?
I use search tools on Web sites all the time. What's
this I hear that there are drawbacks to including
a site search engine?
How do I add "breadcrumbs" to my site?
I've heard noise about Web site "accessibility." What
exactly is accessibility? Is it really that
important? And how can I adapt my site to be
accessible?
