I am having a weird problem with styles in MS Word (Word 2000).

I have a bunch of separate document chapters in FrameMaker which I have moved into a single MS Word document. I saved each FrameMaker chapter as an MS Word 97 document; then opened the MS Word document; then cut and paste into the one large MS Word document I am creating.

In the original FrameMaker document I had some paragraph formats named Bullet1 (with a diamond bullet in front), KeyPoint (with an exclamation mark bullet in front), and Question (with a question mark bullet in front). These styles remain in the distinct, separate MS Word 97 chapters I created.

Now, here's the kicker. Even though I've pasted all the MS Word 97 chapters into one big, large MS Word 2000 document, each time I get to a new chapter it seems the chapter "forgets" the formatting of these bulleted list styles I created. That is, I have to reapply the list style to each paragraph where it belongs. And, when I first enter each new chapter (but again, this is all in one big document) I have to "remind" Word of the appropriate bullet by again defining the style.

With some 30 chapters, this is a pain in the neck. Any suggestions?
