Salan,

IT WORKED! Thanks!

Kelly

I wonder if you have two columns in your index. If so, a section break
probably appears between the heading and the index entries. The page
numbering for the section with the heading may be correct, but the page
numbering for the section with index entries may be wrong.

You can resolve it moving to the middle of the index and formatting the page
numbers again.
-From the Insert menu, click Page Numbers, and then click Format
-Click Continue from previous section.
-Click OK, and then click Close. Do not click OK. Clicking Close formats the
page number. Clicking OK inserts it.

Feel free to write me directly if you need more info.

Okay, I have a question for the group. I recently created an index for a
software manual that did not previously have one. Anyway, the first page of
the index is page number 150 following the last page of the manual (149),
but then the second page of the index starts over at page 1 and continues
through page 15.
I have tried reformatting the page numbers for the entire manual, but that
really created some problems with the TOC and index fields, not to mention
the entire page numbering throughout the manual. So, in order to print the
document for hard copy revisions for myself and others in the office, I have
to reformat page numbers from the second page of the index by selecting the
'continue from previous section'.
Is there a way I can fix this without all the BS? I am fairly accomplished
with Microsoft products, but this has been driving me crazy. It seems that
there is something I am missing, I should be able to do it with a couple of
clicks of the mouse.

Kelly
