No. It is not necessary to keep open those files unless you have caused
some font errors or the like.

hi friends,

Iam not able to update the book file in Frame Maker7.0 with the newly
added .fm files without keeping fm files open. Is it required to keep
the files open while updating the book or is it a glitch in FM?? Can
anyone throw some light upon this?
