I don't have a favorite, but here are ones I use regularly.

Writing for the Computer Industry-Woolever and Loeb
Gives a solid process overview of creating documentation. Because it is so
computer focused, I have noticed the references becoming dated more
quickly.

Technical Writing-Lannon (2nd and 7th editions)
The second edition got me through college. There is a really good section
on job hunting with resume and cover letter writing. Lots of examples.

Technical Writing: Contexts, Audiences, and Communities-Boiarsky
Has a really good section on information gathering. As the title suggests,
it emphasizes audience and context.
