Which reminds me...why do I get "on" the plane instead of "in" the plane. I
get "in" the car.

Now that I think about it..

In:
car
truck

On:
plane
bus
train
boat

Why would whether something is used for commuting or mass transportation
determine whether I get in it or on it?

And.....if a submarine was used for mass transit, would we get "on" the sub
instead of "in" the submarine?

Just my opinon here, but I think "onboard" is hokey and not as commonly used
as "integrated" which is more common and more accurate.
