Shauna,

If the first occurrence of each number is handled with autonumbering, you
should be able to use Word's cross-referencing for all other occurrences of
a number.

You would need to make each autonumbered entry a bookmark, and then
cross-reference the bookmarks. Each time you update your fields, the cross
references will change to match any shifts in the autonumbered sequence.
