specific criticisms you received?

I usually encounter two reactions to the fact that I'm a consultant.

The first is that I must lack dedication or that I'm somehow unreliable. The second is that I must be versatile and be used to responsibility. Neither is based on fact, but on prejudice (although, naturally, I prefer the second).

On the whole, I find that people with the first reaction don't want to hire me anyway. However, if one did, I would think twice before accepting. I'd rather not work with someone who prejudged me negatively.
