No speculation was intended. This was one of the reported incidents related
to this particular flight. There are so many systems on the craft that
anyone speculating at this point on any one thing is talking through their
hat (or maybe the other end?).
My comment was primarily about the options that mission control has. If they
had deemed that the astronauts were in any serious danger they "could" have
diverted the flight to one of many alternate landing spots immediately after
takeoff and abort the mission. Obviously, mission control did not deem the
incident at takeoff to be a threat to the mission, and allowed the mission
to continue.
