Always be very careful about what you change. I don't know the field at
all, but it is possible that this is a term that everyone in that area is
familiar with, even if it isn't in the dictionary.

Sounds like you may have to do a bit of research to make sure it's a
misspelling and not a real term. After that, I'd say go for the change.
