A second thought on this topic: If you're trying to say what some function
_lets_ you do, try looking for an active verb that expresses the concept.
For example:
Wrong: The fubar function lets you foul things up beyond all possibility of
recovery.
Right: The fubar function fouls things up beyond all possibility of
recovery.
