I haven't seen anyone post
about writing a slam-dunk owner's manual for a toaster
oven or an operator's guide for an Acme SuperDuper
what-ch-ma-call-it. Do these types of tech writing
gigs exist?
Yes, they do. I've done occasional hardware documentation and marketing materials, as well as software docs, product development docs, and policies and procedures docs for every kind of organization from hospital receptionists to nursing home staff to schools to factories to community service agencies.
