Use other color for new text in Word

There are two easy ways to do it. The easiest is to use styles; open the
Format menu and select style, and in the Style dialog box, click the "New"
button. Define a new style called "New text", but before you move on to
actually defining its characters, select "Character" under the heading
"style type". This lets you apply the style to either paragraphs or parts of
paragraphs. To get the color effects you want, look in the Font part of the
style definition: towards the middle-right of the dialog box you'll see an
option for "default color". Choose an appropriate color.

The great advantage of this approach is that you can use the search and
replace function to find all instances of this style automatically rather
than having to hunt through the document seeking them. You can also replace
this style with "normal" (or whatever) through search and replace.

The other method is to use the "text color" or "highlighter" tools. Both are
typically available in the "Formatting" toolbar; click with the righthand
mouse button on any existing toolbar, and select "Formatting" to display
this. The main drawback to these tools is that most people don't know they
exist, so you may have to inform your colleagues how to remove the
formatting applied using these tools.
