Is there any possibility of approaching a supervisor and asking if anything
you have authored (or any portion of it) would be available for use in your
portfolio?  You might have a better chance of coming up with something that
way - especially if you can identify a representative segment of your work
that you can include in your portfolio.  If the photocopy bears the
"classified" stamp, you'd also need a letter releasing the segment for your
use.
