TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I just turned Techwr-l back on--I set it to nomail while I was at
WinWriters (I did consider doing the autoresponse thing but suspected
the humour might be lost on some <LOL!>). I appreciate that the first
post I got was from Andrew Plato and the second or third was about
neatsfoot oil. <vbg>
The short of it is, WinWriters is a very worthwhile event if you are in
the business of writing online help and online documents--for example, I
found it more specifically applicable to what I do (print and online)
than the last (and only) STC national event I attended, in 2000.
I might follow that up with more info., but want to compose my thoughts
first, rather than merely shipping you my trip report.
