Absolutely agreed, which is why I offered, in my first post, that some
might be using JPEG because they're happy with the output.
Although, I'll not go quite as far as to say it depends entirely on your
audience. In our business, if does help to understand what a raster is,
what the formats are, and what the strengths of those formats are--which
goes beyond audience.
