TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Actually one of my favorite science writers is Natalie Angier,
at least as I recall her NYT articles (can't speak for her
books, though). She is an English major from a liberal arts
school who has studied "English, physics, and astronomy." (very
similar to my own background). None of her many awards or honors
were for writing about of those fields she had formal
(undergrad) training in. Oh, and she actually uses humor (or
wit, anyway) in scientific writing.
Now it's time for this dead horse to ride off into the sunset. I
have no further points, except that I reserve the right to a
future rant on this topic.
Regards,
Mike O.
I have discovered a truly marvelous proof of this, which however
this sig is not large enough to contain.
