I believe enterprise software is software that is installed company-wide and used by pretty much everyone, like the various ERP systems as an example; software that is designed to run every aspect of a business. SAP would qualify; Word, even if installed on every PC in the company, wouldn't.

If the above is imprecise, corrections are welcome.
