But, except for your diary, your blog, and your GANTGMYR* hidden away in
your bottom desk drawer, you aren't writing for you...you are writing for
the reader and if I was the reader, I'd think "Huh?
The problem I have with writing that isn't modern conversational is that as
I'm reading a procedure, I'm building a visual sequence in my head. It is
from that sequence that I perform the procedure, not from the written
material (I may refer back if I come to an impasse, but other than that....
Using language that makes me do a mental hiccup is that the picture is
erased and I need to backtrack.
