Anyway, 72 points equals one inch. (kind of - read below)
3/16 would be 13.5 points and 5/32 would be 11.25 points.
HOWEVER, the 72pts=1" is not an absolute - for example, type a line of text
in your favorite Word processor, and then copy that text to a new line (so
that you have two lines of the exact same text). Make both lines 13 point,
but one should be Arial and the other Times New Roman. See how they are
different sizes? 72 points to an inch is an approximation when it comes to
computer typography.
So, if your client has to have that *exact* measurement (in inches) then let
me recommend a piece of shareware called Screen Ruler (you'll have to doa
google search for it). It's by Micro Fox Software. Then find out from your
client which typeface they expect (if they have exact standards for size,
they should have a standard typeface to use), and then using Screen Ruler,
you can play with the font size (which should be somewhere between 11 and 14
points for the 3/16")
