I agree with Bruce -- a terrible writer can be a great storyteller (e.g.,
James Michener). So, the story's very good, the reader was involved with the
characters and plot, but the writing stank.
However, a well-written user guide or technical document can still be
incomprehensible or wrong, and following it can cause all kinds of problems,
unlike a paperback novel.
The best the contractor can do is show the draft to the clients in time for
them to realise the error of their ways.
And I gotta put this in: "Revengineering" -- Kim, you kill me, you really
do!
