Geoff,

For WinHelp, you need to set background color as part of the
window definition -- styles won't carry through (as you've
discovered).

While we're on the topic of color, I've left the background of the help
windows as white because this provides good contrast with the black text.
But it occurs to me that some other color (e.g., off-white) might provide
equally legible text but a nicer overall look and feel. Anyone have a
favorite color to recommend? Or should I just stick with plain vanilla
<ahem> white?
