They may not advertise it as a junior position - they may just be offering
a junior salary.

At the moment employers are asking for the moon, and paying peanuts. So
it's probably true that some entry-level writers may end up getting some
gigs. The jobs will probably be demanding, and will throw these rookies
into the deep end without an inflatable pool toy. My prediction is that
many newbies will crash and burn, but a few will emerge from this trial by
fire to become kick -at- ss tech writers.

The toughest thing is to get past the binary thinking of the HR drones who
screen the resumes - you know, the ones who throw away one with 4 1/2
years of Frame experience because their job posting asked for 5 years. If
you can get past that, then it's time to turn on your interviewing charm.
Never underestimate the power of BS - the candidates with the best people
skills will win.
